Canada Adopts!

Our Services

birdsWhat Sets Us Apart from Other Adoption Sites?

Canada Adopts! is Canada's largest and most popular online adoption networking service. We're also the most successful. Each and every year since our launch in 2001, our Waiting Parents Registry has helped more hopeful adoptive couples become parents and more birth parents find loving homes for their children than any service of our kind in Canada. Currently, our Registry results one finalized adoption match every two months.

Our proven track record is just one of the many things we're proud of. Here are a few others:

  • Unrivalled Visibility
Posting your profile online is a great way to reach out and connect with prospective birth parents. But if people can’t find you, it's money down the drain. Canada Adopts! is consistently one of Canada’s highest-ranked adoption websites. But don't take our word for it. Type any adoption-related keyword into any of the top search engines and see for yourself. As a result, we're often the first place prospective birth families visit when they're looking for adoptive parents for their child.
  • Maximized Exposure
Canada Adopts! is the only website in Canada that displays a rotational link to your parent profile on its home page and on its two Waiting Parent Registry pages. That way you know that your profile is always working for you, front and centre, and won’t get buried under other, more recent profiles.
  • Social Networking
Through social media networking, Canada Adopts! gives you multiple chances to leverage your profile and interact with prospective birth parents at no extra cost. In addition to having Canada’s largest and most active adoption discussion forum, Canada Adopts! features the largest and most active Twitter account, Facebook page and YouTube channel -- all part of our integrated marketing strategy aimed at helping you get noticed...and chosen.
  • Unique Features and Services
With hundreds of pages to choose from, we offer easy-to-find features and services you won't find anywhere else. By having them at one convenient location, we’ve become the destination for all of your adoption networking needs.
  • Credible
Actively involved in the adoption community for more than 12 years, we’ve been the keynote speaker at the Adoption Resource Exchange in 2006 and have led workshops there in 2001, 2007, 2008 and 2009. We've also been part of the ACO’s how-to-adopt seminars and occasionally lead our own workshops. Our reputation for results and understanding of the key adoption issues today has made us a sought-after commentator in the media and at schools.
  • Reliable
We're the outreach tool recommended by professionals and trusted by parents. Nearly all of our clients come from referrals or word of mouth. Some of our waiting couples have found matches within days; others more than once. Our success stories, however, aren’t limited to couples who fit the standard waiting adoption profile. They also include those who are considered hard to match due to their age, marital status, sexual orientation or family size. When it comes to receiving maximum exposure for minimum investment, no other Registry in Canada offers you more value than Canada Adopts!

Other Adoption Networking Websites
Posting your profile on other websites is a great way to increase your exposure -- and your chances are of finding a match. Just make sure that before you sign up for a site, you know exactly what you're paying for.

Some adoption networking services can be confusing. They’ll post congratulatory announcements about “their” successful couples, without mentioning that the couples were matched somewhere else -- through an agency or another website -- and that they had nothing to do with it.

Or their marketing pitch will include announcements about “pending matches” or couples “under consideration,” even though some of those matches will never come to fruition due to the vagaries of adoption. If the source of the date of a match isn’t clearly indicated, ask yourself why -- and be sure to ask the site’s owner as well. Did it occur last month, last year or three years ago?

Here are some other questions you might want to ask:

  • how many finalized matches have come directly from your Registry?
  • how many finalized matches have come directly from your Registry this year?
  • how do prospective birth parents find your site?

BTW, a really quick way to answer the last question and gauge a site's online presence is thorough its discussion forum, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube or blog pages. What kind of following does it have? How often does it post new material? How up to date is the material, and is it there for purely self-promotional purposes or does it have value for prospective birth parents and adoptive parents and the adoption community at large?
