They may very well be. Then again, they may not be. Until you speak to them — or even better, meet them — you won’t know for sure. As an expectant mother who’s looking at her adoption choices, this isn’t an easy time for you. You may not have the support of your child’s father or your family. In fact, they may not even know that you’re pregnant.
The good news is that you’re not alone. There are adoption professionals you can turn to for help and all the counselling is free. The key is to go slowly and to gather as much information as possible about the adoption process and the people and professionals involved — and as early as you can. Because the more you know now, the better off you and your baby will be later.
