We have friends who have been adopted and friends who have adopted their children. They have all had positive experiences and say adoption has enriched their lives more than they had imagined. Our friends have been such an inspiration to us. We truly believe adoption is an incredible gift for both adoptive parents and the adopted child. We are here with open arms and open hearts.

Hi,

We are a young, fun, energetic and loving couple who are thrilled to be starting our family through adoption. My name is Karyn and my husband's name is Egidio (all his friends call him Gid). We want to start by letting you know how much we admire the strength and courage you are showing in doing what all good parents want for their children; a secure, safe and loving home. We respect the difficult decision you have made to place your child for adoption and want to thank you in advance for taking the time to read our letter.

Our Journey
Our journey to this path has been a rather long one. Gid and I have been together for 16 years and have been married for five years. We decided to get married because we wanted to start a family. However, conceiving a child was not in our life plan. We endured every medical procedure available in hopes of fulfilling our desire to be parents without success. Needless to say we have been through a great deal of disappointment. In time though we realized that conceiving a child wasn’t as important as being parents.

We have had years of experience with our eight nieces and nephews and know that our child will be so loved by their extended family. We have very close-knit families on both sides and two sets of eager grandparents waiting to love another grandchild. We believe that we were meant to be parents and we can’t wait to meet our precious child.

About Us
Gid and I met at the place we both love the most, the beach! It seemed like such a chance meeting, we talked as if we had known each other for years. We liked the same music and had the same sense of humor. We both went to college for design and had an interest in art. We just clicked!

We are both healthy, enjoy an active lifestyle and have great people in our lives. We spend a lot of time socializing with our friends and families. We are emotionally secure, in that we have a deep respect for each other and get along very well. We are also financially secure; we have good jobs and have made wise investments for our future. Most importantly though, we have each other and our love is strong.

We live in a new four-bedroom home in a suburb of Toronto across from a public school and large park. Our home is on a cul-de-sac of nine homes where the neighborhood children all get together to play. The neighborhood is very safe, has lots of trees and amenities close by. We have a sweet three-year-old dog named Zoe. She is a small Yorkie-poo and we love her to bits.

We have many interests such as going to movies, concerts, art galleries and museums, exploring nature, traveling and entertaining friends & family. I like to cook and we are very conscience of what we eat. Health and wellness are very important to us.

We own a four-season cottage on the lake in the Kawarthas that we visit as much as we can. Our cottage is about three minutes from where my parents live, so we visit regularly and spend a lot of time together. At the cottage we enjoy boating, bonfires, picnics, playing with Zoe, ice-skating and going for long walks. In the winter we usually go on a vacation or go to Florida to visit my parents, they have a winter home in Florida.

About Karyn
I was born in Toronto, and have an Anglo-Saxon heritage. I am the oldest of three children. I have a sister and a brother. My parents always had a way of making my siblings and I all feel very unique and loved. That feeling has stayed with me throughout my life and I believe it has formed who I am today. I have nothing but warm, happy memories of my childhood and have always hoped that someday I could give my child the same positive experience that my parents gave my siblings and I. I have an extremely close bond with my family.

I am a self-employed graphic designer and I am able to work from home. I make my own hours so my schedule is quite flexible which will work out well when our baby arrives.

Egidio Speaks About Karyn
It was the summer of 1991 when I met Karyn. What can I say; it was love at first sight! She completely changed my life in ways I didn’t expect. Karyn exceeded all my expectations of what a woman can be. She is smart, beautiful, kind and more outgoing than anyone I’ve ever met.

Karyn is my best friend; she listens to everything I have to say whether it is about a bad day at work or if I am just joking around. I love to make her laugh, which I do often. She is a very hard worker and very responsible. Karyn always goes out of her way to make people happy. She is great with kids, our nieces and nephews always love being with her. I think she would be the best Mom; she is very giving, loving and has a great sense of humor. She is creative and so much fun to be with. I love and respect her for everything she is and does.

About Gid
I was born in Toronto, to an Italian family. I am the youngest of four children. I have two sisters and a brother. My family always spoke Italian in our home, so I feel fortunate to have a second language. Growing up in an Italian family there was always plenty of home cooked food, which is why one of my favorite things to do is eat! My Mother is a fantastic cook. I remember waking up to the smell of fresh baked bread and cookies in the morning. My Father worked very hard in construction but still made time to tend to our huge vegetable garden in the backyard. I guess that’s how I got my green thumb. My family has remained very close throughout the years and we can visit each other often.

I am electrician and work five days a week. I’m usually home by 4:30 and at noon on Fridays. I am looking so forward to coming home to spend time with our child.

Karyn Speaks About Gid
Besides the fact that I love Gid with all my heart I think he is very funny, handsome and one of the easiest going, positive and loving men I know. He has a warm smile and a kind spirit. He is very loyal and he takes great pride in his family. He was raised with very similar values to mine. His background is Italian, so it goes without saying he loves to eat. Luckily, I love to cook so that pretty much sealed the deal.

Gid is detail oriented and has a fantastic memory. He works hard and takes pride in all that he does. He is the type of person who will start a project and finish it. He has a great sense of humor and keeps everyone laughing. He loves to spend time planting the garden and landscaping. Gid is very thoughtful and doesn’t like to rush into decisions. He is a family man and is so good with kids. I can’t wait to hear a little voice call him Daddy; it would mean everything to him (and to me)!

Our Child’s Future
We have so many dreams for our child’s future. As we are certain you do too. We would be thrilled to meet you, on your terms; to discuss how we both see your child’s life experience and how we can stay in touch for the benefit of the child we will both love. Our hope for you is that you will never have to worry about your child and that you will feel confident in your decision knowing they are safe, happy, healthy and loved.

We strongly believe that children should be given as much positive reinforcement and encouragement as possible to build self-confidence and individuality. We believe in honesty and integrity. We don’t believe in any kind of mental or physical discipline. We are positive people and intend to raise our child in a healthy, respectful and moral way. We also believe in having lots of fun so we know we will have many, many good times and laughs along the way! We will always be a positive light in our child’s life from infancy into adulthood and will always be there for him or her to help them find their way through life.
