| Hello,
Welcome and thank you for viewing our profile.
After trying to have children of our own for four years, we have now turned our hopes towards adoption to build a family. We both have close friends who are adopted and have a strong understanding of the effects of adoption on everyone involved. We understand that it is a difficult time for you and that you have important decisions to make. We hope that through our letter, you will have an idea of who we are.
We both come from large families, immediate and extended. We spend a lot of time with our families and friends and their children. Through them we see evidence of the importance of a secure, stable and happy home life. We promise to work hard to provide the type of life that will enable a child to develop into a kind, understanding, thoughtful, and well-rounded person. We promise to love and cherish your baby everyday and to be the best Mom and Dad that we can be.
About Us
We met in March 2002 and got engaged in August of the same year. We were married June 21, 2003 by a lake. We had about 80 guests at our wedding and reception. Angelica’s father brought the karaoke machine and sang to our first dance. Soon, Marshall’s grandmother was singing along and had everybody in the room dancing up a storm. It was an intimate celebration between families and friends.
In May of 2005, we brought home our black Labrador puppy, Benson. It is truly amazing how much we love him. He is very affectionate and loves to cuddle. Our nephews and nieces fight over who can sleep with Benson on his sleepovers at their house. Our neighbours’ children come in to our yard to play with him. He loves to swim and play with the other dogs at the local dog beach. Benson has grown up around children and is an exceptionally gentle sweet dog. He will make an excellent older brother to any new addition to our family.
We enjoy boating and spend many summer weekends camping on the boat up and down the coastal waters of British Columbia. We bring Benson along as much as we can on our boating trips. Our family has a summer home on Hornby Island where our children and all their cousins will be growing up in and around the water and nature, just as Marshall had growing up. He recalls these memories fondly and wants his children to have the same type of experiences.
As much as we love traveling, we are also content being at home, curling up in front of the fire; inviting our friends and neighbors for dinner; gardening in our yard, etc. We are each other’s best friends and for us, spending time as a family is the most important aspect of life.
Angelica
Angelica is kind, gentle and affectionate. She has a fun loving and outgoing personality. Marshall appreciates Angelica’s warmth and nurturing ways. Angelica has always loved children and wanting to be a mom has been in her heart for a very long time! Angelica grew up looking after her five sisters and has been a role model her whole life. The influence this life experience had on her helped direct her towards nursing where she now enjoys her career as an Operating Room nurse at a hospital nearby. Her family is an exceptionally loving family who doesn't think twice about sharing to help others. Recently, Angelica and her father, who is an eye doctor, along with other volunteer doctors and nurses, completed a medical mission in a third world country that treated 1,700 people in five days. Once our baby comes home, Angelica will focus her efforts to being a full-time mom.
Marshall
Marshall is outgoing, very affectionate, reliable, and a great friend. One attribute that would best describe Marshall is someone who seizes the moment. Marshall loves the outdoors. He loves boating and fishing. He also likes to mountain bike. Marshall has 18 little cousins and nephews and nieces in his life and is amazing around kids. At family or neighborhood parties, he is most often found down in the rec room starting the pillow fights or hanging out with all the kids or in the back yard playing and goofing around with the kids. Marshall can't wait to develop a bond with his own child and begin an exciting new chapter in his own life with Angelica.
Our Home
Our home is a warm one where everyone is equal and shares in the duties and responsibilities. It is a newly renovated five-bedroom house with a finished basement. Our home is in a quiet family neighborhood on a tree-lined street. We now know many of our neighbors in the two years we have lived here and so feel very much at home. We’ve become great friends with our neighbors across the lane. We’ve spent many dinners together with them and their children. They have three wonderful children who hang out at our place to play with Benson.
There are several schools in the area, from preschool to high school. There is a huge park just two blocks from our house and another one just three minutes away. We are ten minutes away from the closest beach and just a few minutes away from a community centre that offers many different programs to children. It is truly a great area to raise children. Our neighborhood is very culturally diverse and about ten minutes from downtown Vancouver. It doesn’t take much time either to get to all the different types of restaurants we like to eat at.
We love spending time in our back yard during beautiful summer days. There is a large fence that surrounds the yard. Marshall loves to mow the lawn and makes an effort to fix odd things around the house, before Angelica calls in the professionals to actually complete the repair. Angelica loves to garden but is also very artistic. She paints and makes all the curtains, pillows, etc. in our home. Angelica hopes to one day become an interior designer. Marshall says she already is one.
Thanks for taking the time to read through our profile.
Sincerely,
Angelica and Marshall
