We are Kirby and Danielle. We are excited for you to learn about us, as we share our story.
About Us
We first met while attending the same university. We have been happily married for 12 years and are excited to become first time parents through adoption. We suffered with infertility for many years. Although disappointing, this experience has only made us stronger as a couple. We are committed to building our family though adoption.
We aspire to always be kind and compassionate to others. We value honesty, respect and commitment. We are a fun, outgoing, energetic couple. We live a simple life, spending weekends with family/friends BBQ-ing poolside or building campfires at the cottage. During the winter, you will find us at the hockey rink or keeping warm watching movies. We work hard every day and reward ourselves with little vacations when possible. Our vacations usually include relaxing by the ocean, sightseeing or taking in a sporting event. We look forward to exploring the world with your child.
Our Home
We live in South Mississauga in a great neighbourhood with excellent elementary schools nearby. There is a playground at the end of our street and we have a public library, community center and Go Station all within walking distance. Our bungalow has three bedrooms, a huge dining area and lots of indoor/outdoor play space. Our back yard has a pool; but don’t worry all safety requirements are in place. We love to decorate the house for special occasions, like Halloween, and introduce festive cheer during the holidays.
Our Dog
We have a 3 year old Cocker Spaniel dog named Lacey. She is very sweet, loves to cuddle and is wonderful with children. She loves long walks, swimming in the lake and her family.
About Kirby
Kirby is originally from a small town in Northern Ontario and speaks both English and French. His family moved to Southern Ontario when he was in high school. Kirby’s passion is for the sport of Hockey. He grew up playing hockey competitively. He no longer plays competitive hockey; he now coaches teenagers (16 to 20 year olds). He is proud to enhance not only their athletic ability, but to help influence their character as they become young men. Kirby has many friends and is known as the social organizer. He is the chef of the house and makes wonderful healthy meals. Kirby has a kind heart, is generous and loyal. When we are with children, you will find Kirby playing mini-sticks, doing cannon balls, or chasing the kids around the yard. I know Kirby will make an amazing father.
About Danielle
Danielle is originally from a small town one hour north of Toronto, where most of her family still lives today. She is the oldest of three children and has a close relationship with her family. Professionally, Danielle is a Management Executive. Although, she is ambitious and goal oriented, her priority remains with family and friends. Her eyes light up when she is around children. She is the Aunt who gets on the floor to play dolls, who braids hair and bakes cupcakes. She enjoys staying active, playing sports and walking the dog. Danielle is my biggest cheerleader; she attends all my sporting events. She has a strong network of girlfriends who she can count on for parenting advice.
Our Family
Our family has been a huge source of support throughout our lives and we are thrilled to include them on this journey with us. They will be wonderful role models for your child. Your child will have 2 sets of grandparents, 2 uncles, 2 aunties, 6 cousins (Between the ages of 3-9), and a large extended family.
Our Belief
We believe children need a safe, nurturing and loving environment to be able to thrive and grow into confident successful people. Our role as parents is to provide such while supporting their hopes and dreams. We will strongly encourage education and expose your child to sports, music, art and religion. We will offer endless opportunity to anything he/she desires. We can’t wait to read bedtime stories, play dress up and eventually help with homework.
Our Promise
We will ensure open communication, use positive reinforcement, set fair rules and lead by example. We will always be honest with your child about their past and will create a life book to tell their birth story. Your child will know that your decision was made out of love and how you wanted to give him/her the best life possible. We believe in openness. We will share photos, provide milestone updates and invite you and your family to visit ours. We promise, your child will always feel supported, loved and safe.
